President's Foreword

“One thing is certain: The power of belief, the power of thought, will move reality in the direction of what we believe and conceive of it. If you really believe that you can do something, you can. This is a fact. When you clearly envision a victorious outcome, engrave it in your heart and are firmly convinced that you will attain it, your brain makes every effort to realize the mental image you have created. And then, through your unceasing efforts, that victory is finally made a reality.”

Quote from Dr. Daisaku Ikeda (A Japanese Philosopher)

Based on the above belief and understanding, I am absolutely confident that SPEA will truly deliver its mission to serve the needs of the PE and Sports fraternity in Singapore and beyond, through our collective will and commitment. But first, we need a clear and powerful vision to guide our strategic plan.

While SPEA has done well and contributed significantly to the PE and Sports fraternity over the past 48 years, it is time for us to re-envision our future, redefine our roles and renew our resolution. With this in mind, I would like to invite all SPEA members, partners and friends to support us in our re-envisioning efforts by giving us your honest views and feedback through the link below.

As we look forward to greater growth and further advancement of the Association, we have made great efforts to reinvent ourselves and to think of better ways to publish the rich sharing of knowledge and ideas by our fellow PE and Sports professionals. This year, instead of our usual practice of publishing and circulating PDF copies of our biannual newsletters, our SPEA Publication Team led by Mr Louis Ho is boldly experimenting this new approach of publishing all the wonderful articles on a blog page for easier accessibility and reading. Please give us your feedback and share with us how we can do this better!

Meanwhile, please continue to enjoy reading and benefiting from the rich sharing of professional ideas and practices in our SPEA publication!

Thank you.

Koh Yiak Kheng, Leonard

President
