Invitation - How can you contribute to SPEA50 Jubilee Edition?

As the Singapore Physical Education Association (SPEA) approaches its 50th anniversary in 2025, we are delighted to announce the launch of a special publication—the SPEA50 Jubilee Edition (Online / Print - to be released in the second half of 2025). This commemorative edition celebrates SPEA 's pivotal role in shaping Physical Education (PE) in Singapore, honours the legacy of past contributors, and inspires aspiration for the future of PE in our nation.

About the SPEA50 Jubilee Edition - "Awareness, Appreciation, Aspirations"

This milestone publication is dedicated to:

• Raising Awareness of SPEA’s significant contributions to the professionalism of PE.

• Appreciating the growth of PE in Singapore and celebrating its present achievements.

• Inspiring Aspirations for the role of PE in nurturing a nation of future-ready learners.

Themes - "Past, Present, Possibilities"

We invite you - members, educators, and contributors within the PE fraternity—to share your unique insights and stories. Contributions can align with one or more of the following themes:

1. PAST: Reflect on SPEA’s role in shaping PE in Singapore, honoring the individuals who have contributed to its growth.

2. PRESENT: Celebrate the professionalism and innovation that define PE today, including practices and achievements that highlight its importance of PE.

3. POSSIBILITIES (FUTURE): Envision the next 50 years of PE in Singapore, sharing your aspirations and ideas for the future.

How You Can Contribute?

We welcome diverse formats and perspectives, including:

• Reflections on the Past: Personal experiences or milestones in your journey as a PE professional.

• Stories of the Present: Highlighting current practices, innovations, or achievements in PE.

• Visions for the Future (Possibilities): Your dreams and ideas for advancing PE over the next 50 years.

Submission Guidelines

• Format: Articles, personal essays, or stories (300 to 500, Capped at 1000 words)

• Photos: 5  images to accompany your submission

• Deadline: 23 March 2025, Sunday (March School Holidays)  4 April 2025, Friday

A Collaborative Celebration of PE in Singapore

Your contributions will be instrumental in creating a publication that honors the past, celebrates the present, and inspires the future of PE in Singapore. Submissions might be featured on SPEA’s digital platforms (website, Instagram, PESTA Facebook), with selected pieces included in the SPEA50 Jubilee Edition, available both online and in print.
