Latest! Release of SPEA Newsletter 2025 Jubilee Edition
May this new chapter of mine begin with two heartfelt words: Thank you.
Thank you for the trust as we embark on this journey together. Thank you to my mentors, Mr Goh Ek Piang, Assoc Prof Koh Koon Teck and Mr Leonard Koh, for your invaluable guidance, unwavering encouragement and the many lessons that have shaped me, both professionally and personally. My heartfelt appreciation also goes to Mr Louis Ho, my predecessor, whose vision and dedication have laid the strong foundations, and to the editorial teams who have nurtured the newsletters into a meaningful platform for professional learning and connection. To our Management Committee members, Thank you for your selfless service and steadfast commitment to advancing our Physical Education fraternity.
As I write my first Editor's Note, I do so with deep gratitude, conviction and hope. While I may serve together with my team, this newsletter has never belonged to one individual. It belongs to a community of educators who believe that our profession grows stronger when we learn with, from and for one another.
To me, a newsletter is far more than a collection of articles. It is the collective heartbeat of our profession. Every story captures the passion, courage and commitment of educators who continually seek to make Physical Education and Sports a more meaningful experience for every learner.
As SPEA begins its next chapter beyond its Golden Jubilee, so too does this publication. In a rapidly changing educational landscape, our profession will continue to evolve. Yet one thing remains constant: Physical Education is, at its heart, about people. It is about nurturing confidence, resilience, belonging and a lifelong love for others, through movement.
As the incoming editorial team, we hope this newsletter continues to be a living professional community; a space where ideas are shared generously, innovations are celebrated, meaningful conversations are sparked, and every educator feels inspired to contribute. Behind every article is someone who chose to share not because they had all the answers, but because they believed their journey might illuminate someone else's.
To all our contributors, readers and the Publications and Publicity Editorial Team, Thank you for your passion and generosity. Your contributions continue to shape this publication and, more importantly, the future of our profession.
As we turn the pages together, I invite each of us to continue writing the future of Physical Education, not only through the lessons we teach, but through the stories we share, the knowledge we exchange and the lives we inspire.
Let’s continue to read and write the next chapters, together!
Serving with you,
Stella Yap
